The Association of Public Health Nurses (APHN) has been part of the Million® Hearts Collaboration since 2015 as one of 13 national organizations to promote evidence-based strategies to prevent and manage heart disease and stroke. Participation in the collaboration led APHN to join the Ohio State University’s National Interprofessional Education and Practice Consortium to Advance Million Hearts® and offer free continuing education credits through completion of the Million Hearts® Fellowship Module. By providing screenings in their own community, APHN members contribute to OSUs goal of providing 100,000 biometric screenings across the by 2022. More than 40 APHN members have completed the training and provided over 400 screenings in their communities.
